Designed by us, felt by you. Here are six experiences to ensure you’ll never lose your sense of wonder!
Meet the stingrays
Imagine feeding a fever of stingrays. These ominous, shark-related, flat fish
with their wiping tails have to be seen to be believed. Each evening as the sun begins
to set, these graceful creatures glide their way to Maadi Point beach off the Maldivian
resort of Jumeirah Vitavelli. The kids will love exploring this island paradise too!
It’s a heart-warming moment when you see the formerly sick or injured turtles rescued by the Dubai Turtle Rehabilitation Project take their cautionary steps back into the wild waters of the Arabian Sea. Having been nurtured back to good health within the purpose-built facilities located at Burj Al Arab and Madinat Jumeirah, each year crowds gather on the beach to wish healthy turtles well as reenter the water to begin their new adventures at sea.
This recreation of an Arabian Souk at Madinat Jumeirah was made for wondering! It’s so authentic you’d think it was hundreds of years old. Lose yourself in the labyrinth of narrow lanes, marvelling at the colourful souvenirs on sale from the myriad stalls and tiny shops, breathe in the smells and aromas of oud floating in the air and take time to sit beside the waterways to watch the abras glide past.
Nathan Outlaw at Al Mahara
When you combine one of the world’s best hotels with one of the world’s best chefs – you know you’re in for a wonderful time! Nathan Outlaw, the British chef who puts the fish in aficionado and whose restaurants in the UK boast a string of Michelin stars, is the
latest catch from the iconic Burj Al Arab. But even more impressive is the fact that you’ll
be dining within an aquarium surrounded by colourful corals and fish. Welcome to Nathan Outlaw at Al Mahara.
Yes, it’s as extravagant as it sounds and you’ll emerge positively glowing from the Talise Ottoman Spa at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray. Imagine having a feather-light gold chain mask lain across your face. Let the technology work its magic stimulating cellular growth and boosting precious collagen. Afterwards, relax in the spa and put your feet up for the afternoon.
This is one instance where you cannot let your jaw drop in wonder – when diving off the
coast of Jumeirah Vitavelli resort. A kaleidoscopic world teeming with life lies beneath
the surface of the Indian Ocean. Discover submerged shipwrecks, colourful coral reefs
and dark caves. Watch reef sharks feeding, marvel at manta rays effortlessly gliding by,
spot moray eels hiding in holes and observe turtles searching for food. Diving doesn’t get
much better than this.
